Verify Apple ID - An unknown error occurred

I keep getting a popup to verify my Apple ID and I keep receiving the message: An unknown error occurred.

I know my password is correct because I'm able to login to all my other devices

What I've tried:

- Updated to latest OS

- Full backup and restore of device
