I have received two messages which says it is from Apple ID but the certificate is not apple.com. The topic is: "Summary News Alert] New statements log-in and checking account information from other device [Detail Change Password)"

It asks me to login or my acct will be locked.

I have tried asking Apple direct if this is from them or a scam. Of course Apple refuses to respond to any question unless it is a warranty product.

Has anyone seen this type of message? If it is legit, how do I remove or clear it?

I have no idea if my acct is locked or not.

thanks

Apple will always address you by your name or the name they have on file for you and the e-mail will be from @apple.com or @iTunes.com. E-mail addresses can be spoofed. You can go to Mail/View/Message/Show all Headers to see more.

Send the e-mail to Apple as an attachment to a new e-mail before deleting it. You can forward as an attachment by going to Mail/Message/Forward as attachment.
