How can I make it so nobody can make any purchases on family sharing without main account holders approval

I have family sharing with music as well as to upgrade my cloud space. But it seems my son is able to purchase things on his phone without paying but then he can download free apps and for some reason all my contacts or maybe just the iphone ones all have a pay symbol lit up. I’ve never seen that. How can I get it to where nobody can purchase anything without getting an alert or a text to approve it and tell you what it is.

User uploaded fileThe pay symbol is in contact info under phone numbers, email stuff like that. It just started since this **** New England snow Ins we’ve been getting. I will show you a sample of a screenshot (without personal info) but maybe someone can help. I’m enclosing 2 the first is for an android phone and the second is my son who is on my family sharing for the family music plan. I thought that I’d have to creat a whole new Apple ID for me to be able to block it. Here’s the thing I was telling about. It’s showing up on everyone. My bill is paid and Apple is fine.

The way Family Sharing works is that you can set up Ask to Buy for any person under the age of 18, which would require your approval for any purchase or download by that Apple ID: Request and make purchases with Ask to Buy - Apple Support

I'm sorry, but I have no idea what you are referring to when you state:

What do you mean by "all have a pay symbol lit up"? Where are you seeing this?

OK, what you have showing has zero to do with Family Sharing. What that is showing is that Apple Pay Cash has been turned on under Settings>Wallet & Apple Pay. All you have to do is turn it off.

This is what Apple Pay Cash is all about FYI: Set up Apple Pay Cash and person to person payments - Apple Support

Mine was turned back on as well, even though I have turned it off more than once. It just allows you to send money to people via the Messages app using a Debit or Credit card on file.

The only money your child would be able to send to someone is if he had his own Credit or Debit card set up in his Apple Wallet. He would also have to be 18 years old.

So, you can just turn it off and that setting will go away.
