iPhone, iTunes & laptop issue.

Hello,

Why, every time I connect my iPhone to my laptop (USB hot spot) does iTunes open automatically?

I do not want this to happen.

I want to choose when I open iTunes.

Regards

Gary

Hey there, Gary.

It appears that iTunes opens whenever you connect your iPhone to your computer. I'm happy to help.

iTunes 11 for Windows: Require a prompt before automatic syncing -- iTunes is trying to automatically sync your iPhone. To turn this off, follow the steps below.

Require a prompt before syncing a specific iPod, iPhone, or iPad

  1. Connect your iPod, iPhone, or iPad to your computer and select your device.
  2. Click Summary, and then deselect “Open iTunes when this Device is connected.”

Note: This option isn’t available if you’ve selected “Prevent iPods, iPhones, and iPads from syncing automatically” in the Devices pane in iTunes preferences.

Require a prompt before syncing all iPod, iPhone, and iPad devices

  1. In iTunes, choose Edit > Preferences. (iTunes > Preferences on a Mac)
  2. Click Devices.
  3. Select “Prevent iPods, iPhones, and iPads from syncing automatically.”

To sync your iPod, iPhone, or iPad when a prompt is required, connect your iPod, iPhone, or iPad to your computer, choose your device from the Devices pop-up menu near the top of the iTunes window, and click Sync.

Let me know how that goes.

Take care!
