There is nothing happen when this on or off.

When that is turned "on", you should see the message option as shown when someone calls:

it is no need to on or off to work your msg on screenshot. what i am telling was when the phonne is lock screen looking the messages what comes. i think it is software failed on Iphone X
The screen shot you are showing indicates you received a text message.
