Question: New Macbook Pro is slower than my old Macbook Pro

Hi,

I just switched to a new Macbook pro (15" 2017, i7 CPU) from a Macbook pro (13" Late 2016 or 2017, i5). I forgot the exact year of my old one, but it comes with the touch bar.

When I open the same heavy Excel file, my new Macbook pro is much slower. It takes about 30 secs ~ 1 min for new Macbook, while my old Macbook pro only takes seconds.

Why? 😕 Thanks.

MacBook Pro TouchBar and Touch ID, macOS High Sierra (10.13.3)

Consider the possibility that there is some software - maybe even excel - which is incompatible with High Sierra and is slowing down the computer. Make sure all your software is compatible with High Sierra. To see what is running behind the scenes, you can run EtreCheck.
