Is it possible to create a master album/folder to put sub-albums in?
I have been on a cruise, so I would like my master folder/album called Cruise. Then I would like to have sub-albums for each destination we stopped at.
iMac with Retina 5K display, macOS High Sierra (10.13.3)
And you can have many events - folders can hod either albums or other folders so your cruise folder can have a folder for each country in it with photos form that country - or folders for continents with folders for countries in it with folders for cities in them with photos for those cities in them --- as deep as you want
and if your photo have accurate GPS info you can use smart albums (file menu ==> new smart album) to automatically make albums based on the GPS data

Yes you can make folders and drag albums to the folder.
File -> New Folder...
