Text going to wrong person

My husband and I just got new phone lines and phones yesterday. I got an IPhone 8 and he got something else. When I try to text my husband it goes as an iMessage to someone else. He can message me but when I respond it appears in blue and goes to another person I don’t know. I’ve deleted the thread and reentered his contact info with no luck. Any ideas what could be happening?

iMessage isn't working for one particular person I know there have been quite a lot of posts about this problem, but I couldn't find any that were exactly like mine. All the other ones have something about the text messages being green, but mine are still blue. My iMessages with said person have been completely fine for at least a year before I found out that my messages weren't being delivered, but the messages were still the same blue as when you send a message to another iPhone user. If I remember correctly, he can receive my messages, but if he sends one to me nothing shows up. Because iMessage doesn't work anymore, we've had to use other apps, like social media, to keep conversing. But I'm not gonna lie, it's really annoying, so if any of you know ANY possible solution, I would greatly appreciate it. If you need any questions answered then ask away.

Do iMessages (blue) or text (green) simply latch on to previous message? Hello, I am very new to any type of cell phones - let alone iPhones - so please excuse me if this is kinda' dumb. I tried to search for this answer and the closest was done in 2010, so it was 'suggested' that I start a new conversation. I have think I have managed to send myself (ie same iphone sends & receives it) an iMessage and a text (?SMS) to my husband's Android phone. Each time I thought that I was initiating a brand new message, but they seem to merely 'latch on' to the message that I had previously sent to either myself or my husband? Am I doing something wrong since I don't seem to be able to start a brand new message? If this is normal, how old can the original message be that you then link onto to? I mean something like if I send my husband a text one week and then another the following week, will they still be written 'together'? It seems like you could be texting about wildly different topics, yet they'd still be 'attached'?? And, can you print out these messages? Thank you very much for any assistance!
