I just purchased a new macbook pro 2 days ago. I was clearing up some emails this morning & my computer got hot to the point where the fans turned on, is this common on a new macbook pro?

Overheating while clearing emails or using mainstage 3 a music program like prologic

The fans coming on does not mean your computer was overheating. he fans coming on prevent overheating. If the computer was overheating it would shut down. How hot was it?
