Lightning device to firewire 800

Still using an fine old MacBook Pro (2010) with a Firewire 800 port, I would like to attach some newer Lightning device (Blackmagic video interface HDMI to Lightning). Anyone knows if this is possible? I can only see the other option being around: firewire via adapter towards lightning...but does it work the other way around?

Firewire Adapter Firewire adapter. I have an old Mini DVD camcorder. The video transfer cable out is firewire. Just ordered a new Mac Mini to replace my Early 2009 Power Mac.. What adapter is available to connect PowerMac Firewire to Mac Mini Thunderbolt 3? Just ordered a new Mac Mini to replace my Early 2009 Power Mac.. What adapter is available to connect PowerMac Firewire to Mac Mini Thunderbolt 3? I just don't want to buy the wrong one(s). The Firewire to Thunderbolt does not seem to be the right one for the Thunderbolt 3.
