All my documents have disappeared from my hard drive and No they are not on iCloud. How can that be?
I have not used my laptop for a while but would not expect files stored on the local hard drive to suddenly disappear. Please help if you know what I can do.

See if you can find the file(s) using one of these programs. If you go Finder/View/Show Path Bar, it will show you where it is located.

Try re-indexing Spotlight by excluding your hard drive and then remove it.
Do you have a backup you can restore from?
Thanks easy find confirms the files I gone. iCloud seems to have a replica of the folder structure but all the files in the folders has vanished. I can't believe this could happen...
Any other suggestions?
