how do i get apple music lyrics for purchased songs?

I am a recent subscriber to Apple Music, and can easily see the lyrics for any song I do NOT own and am streaming via Apple Music. However, any song that I've purchased I cannot see lyrics to (but if I stream that exact song from Apple Music, I can). Are my owned/locally saved songs not getting matched properly to the apple database? It makes no sense that songs I already owned can't get the lyrics automatically. Thanks!
