Message Problem

I "loved" a message on my laptop Message, and it keeps popping up every time I write to that person. How can I get rid of it?

MacBook Pro (13-inch, Late 2016, 4 TBT3), macOS High Sierra (10.13.2)

Hi,

So in one iMessages you used Tapback and then the Heart icon ?

Tapback does not require the highlight word or text as in this picture but you do Right Click the whole iMessage and then choose Tapback followed by the icon.

If you select an item it becomes a coloured icon.

Is this what you mean ?

I am not aware of once using a Tapback that it was "pinned" so that it was always in view.

Hi,

I did test these when I first saw them, in a chat that I have since deleted.

I have tested again in a fairly unused chat but it does not have enough messages in it to have made the first one disappear out of sight (or not).

I can see you cannot remove them.

You may be stuck with removing that one iMessage

Humm,

Open a Finder Window.

Use the Go Menu whilst holding down the Alt/Option key

Navigate to Messages.

Select one of the chat.db items

Do A Get Info (CMD and i Keys together)

Scroll to the bottom of the Info Panel and highlight your name.

Then unlock the item.

The Cogwheel item then needs to be used.

It should show you text that say "Make yourshortname (me) the Owner".

It should be greyed out if you already own the File.

Another clue would be the the date the file was last changed

Highlight the file.

Use the View Menu and Show View Options and choose Modified Date.

If the date is days ago then you are not writing new info to it and the chances are you have lost Ownership.

If that appears to be the case see this:-
