Question: Graphics Card Boot Up Screen?

I recently bought a Gtx 1060 for bootcamp unknowingly that it wouldn't show the boot up screen on my 2010 Mac Pro. It originally had two Radeon 5770 HD's but those are no longer available. The computer is currently stuck on the boot camp os not able to switch back to the mac os without the boot up screen. I was wondering if any could tell me a cheap medium quality graphics card that will show the boot up screen? Also would I be able to keep both of my graphics cards in and it would still show the boot up screen? Thanks.

Mac Pro, macOS High Sierra (10.13.3), 2010 Mac Pro

The Mac-firmware GT120 card shipped in those Macs. It does NOT require an aux-cable to operate, but I am not certain how close to the edge you are with your new card installed at the same time.

For talking numbers, we say 75 Watts from the slot, and 75 Watts for each 6-pin aux cable. If you overdraw the power supply, your Mac will suddenly power off when you are doing your most intensive work.

The most graphics intensive programs I would be using on my Mac OS would just be Logic Pro and Garage Band, would just unplugging the power slot from each graphics card work instead of having to reinstall each one separately?

You can install both those cards at once. It will work fine. You can boot up and change back and forth Windows to Mac and back again.

IF and only if you are close to overdrawing the power supply, your Mac will power down when you do the most intensive work you have. Then you will know that it cannot power both cards at once, and will have to either remove the GT120 or think about external power supplies.
