My iMAC (Retina 4K, 21.5-inch, Late 2015) with iOS 10.13.3 does not recognize my iCloud/Apple password. I have tried using the verification code and using it to sign in but the iMac still doesn't recognize it. The password works fine on my iPhone and iPad.

Try setting up another admin user account to see if the same problem continues. Also try the Safe Mode.
