Screenshot file won't move to Trash.

When I try to drag or to send-click a screenshot file to Trash, a progress strip falsely indicates that the action is completed. The screenshot icon remains on my desktop, and remains active. I'm using an iMac (late 2013) and High Sierra 10.13.3. Can anyone help?

iMac Pro takes days to save images to Desktop...yes...Days. I would say it started in the last few months, so I'm not sure if it is a OS issue or not. But if I try to do a screenshot full or partial nothing saves to the desktop, days later I will hear the iconic "Desktop place" sound and 50 screenshots that I tried from a few days ago will have saved. I have seen this in other posts but couldn't reply to it. I told me to start a new conversation. I tried disabling and the "Show Floating Thumbnail" This thumbnail I can sometimes grab and throw into an email. Sometimes not. But it won't save to the desktop immediately. Same if I try to drag an image from a browser, tried in Safari and Chrome. iMac Pro 2017 Running Mojave 10.14 can anyone shed any light on this?

No longer able to make "screenshots" on my iMac Over the past 3-4 weeks I've noticed I can no longer make "screenshots" For some reason when using Cmd+shift+4 a window appears with the heading "untitled .png" appears. I am unable to save to my desktop without first editing the image. Previously s/shots of documents I want, would go to my d/top and I would annotate one after another. I have taken it up with Apple and senior techs and nothing so far has corrected it. We have used terminal commands but nothing happens. They will speak with their engineers; but in the meantime I wonder if anyone else has had this problem, and if so how to overcome it. I'm using Mojave 10.14.2 0n a 27" (late 2015) iMac

Huge lag between taking screenshots and them appearing on my desktop I take screenshots for work throughout the day. All morning the screenshots had been appearing normally on my desktop (ie instantly right after I take them), then at a certain point they stopped appearing. I checked out all my screenshot settings and made sure they were still set to appear on my Desktop and not any other folder. Around 30-40 min later, the screenshots finally start belatedly appearing on my desktop. I have restarted my computer since and the issue persists. Any thoughts? Again, my screenshots settings appear to be fine. But the lag is not normal and hugely disruptive to my workflow. I have not been able to figure out a workaround. I'm on Big Sur 11.5.2.
