icloud's 2 part verification with non apple product

In setting up ICLOUD on my mac computer, the instructions indicate a 2 part verification with an iphone, ipad, etc. However, I have a Samsung galaxy 5.0 phone only. May I set up the verification with that instead? If so, how?

Verification on new Macbook?? I just purchased a new MacBook and am receiving it tomorrow by mail and am wondering when I set it up does it require a verification code that will be sent to my phone number or email with my already existing iCloud information. I’m wondering if I have to attach my phone to the Mac book because I don’t have the usbc adapter and am hoping it will sent it to my phone or email. Should I run into any problems??

Can't link icloud to my macbook So i have tried linking icloud to my macbook, keying in my apple ID and password to login to the icloud app. Then I get to a verification popup which states: Enter the verification code sent to your other devices, your apple ID can only be used from devices you approve. Unlike normal login prompts (to apple ID for example) that send verification codes to my android phone, I have tried many times and I have not received a verification code on my phone. I searched online and apparently the code is normally sent to a device linked to the apple ID (normally an Iphone or Ipad). Problem is my phone is an android and my macbook is the only apple product i have but I can't verify my macbook, using my macbook, if it makes sense. Would appreciate help, thank you.

verification code boxes doesn't appear on my macbook air I am trying to sync all my apple devices and i can't use them due to, that the verification code appears on the iphone it tells me to put it on the mac and the boxes don't pop up where to install that code. Why doesn't the verification code appear on the macbook air when it appears on the iPhone when trying to enter in iCloud / iMessage etc
