How do I add a ringtone from an email into ITunes?

I found a ringtone that I want but could only get it from a site that said Apple did not allow a direct download from that site. It told me to mail it to myself via email and then install it using ITunes. I can't figure out how to do this. Help!

Ringtone I've created a ringtone from my music and emailed it to myself hoping it would load to my ringtones once I opened it on my iPhone. It does not show up in ringtones despite the fact it downloaded. Could it be somewhere else on the phone? I did change the file to m4rt as stipulated. I also tried to add it direct to the phone by connecting the phone to the Mac. The same issue it never appeared in the phones ringtones?
