my monitor shows no signal with my mac mini

Recently my Mac Mini late 2011 shows no signal on my monitor. Could it be because of too many devices connected to my home wifi? Or an old lan cable problem? I have cleaned up any dust that was around the port connections. It sometimes works but only for a short time and soon returns to no signal. Anyone's help would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.
