i restarted and deleted and redownloaded nothing works please help

i have the install mac osx high sierra app i downloaded it from the app storewhen i click open nothing happens i have tried re downloading it and restarting my mac it still does not open when i check for software update it says their are no updates but my mac is not high sierra so their is aupdate it says no updates available so please help me

that is all it is just not opening

A couple things. First that doesn't look like the correct icon for the High Sierra installer which looks like this…

What size is the file you posted? It should be about 5GB.

Are you on an admin account?

Try running it while booted into Safe Mode.

Try running installer from the Terminal, this way you will see installer complains in more details, than if necessary post output here.

/Applications/Install\ macOS\ High\ Sierra.app/Contents/Resources/startosinstall

Just to make sure, you have to be logged in with your Apple ID to your account in App Store to have High Sierra installer downloaded properly.
