iPhone 8 shutdown, Apple?

Does anyone know whether Apple has acknowledged the problems with the new iPhone 8? My new phone started acting up within a couple of weeks - freezing, shutting down, starting up and shutting down again - and the new update has done nothing to fix it. To say I'm annoyed would be a massive understatement. Anyone have any news about this problem - it seems to be quite common!
