My 5th gen Ipod won't hold a battery charge?

So I've been having slight issues with charging my 5th generation Ipod for about 2 months. It would require the chord to be at a weird angle or pulled slightly out. But now it won't hold any battery at all and the Ipod blatantly says that it is indeed charging. I've had it on the charger for about a month now and it still said it was charging. The home button is also broken so I couldn't reset it. What do I need to do to get this fixed without coming out of pocket too much?
