Question: Problems with Quicklook. An error occurred with the preview of this document

As of today I get this message when I try to preview an audio file: "An error occurred with the preview of this document." What needs to be done to restore Quicklook on audio files? Quicklook works perfectly on other file types.

Thanks in advance.

On my El Capitan 10.11.6 and High Sierra 10.13.3 systems, Quick Look will play compatible audio files. A single click of a compatible audio file in the Finder will also play it without the need to invoke Quick Look. Compatible means anything that QuickTime or iTunes can play.

I experience no error messages playing back audio files from Finder. If the format is unable to play, a Quick Look panel opens without the playback control.
