Cannot shut down my iMac.

It is stuck in "closing library" and I am not able to Quit Photos.

iMac, macOS Sierra (10.12.3)

Have you tried shut down by pressing and holding power button down

to force shut-down that way? ~ Some users have chosen to set up the

Mac so that may restart the computer, if only held down short duration.


{Or with Mac 10.9.5 or later, pressing the Power Button briefly makes it Sleep.}

When you turn it back on, you may consider restart in Safe mode so it

may check system files and perhaps attempt a few checks/repairs:
