I keep getting an error message from my Boot Camp that the startup does not have enough space to be partitioned even though I have over 120GB

I want to install Win10 on my MacBook Air but I keep getting insufficient disk space to partition even though I have 120gb available, more than the 40gb required. How do I fix this problem?
