iPhone 8 Wireless Charging
I have a 2018 Mercedes E class. The iPhone opens the Apple Pay app when I place phone on the NFC pad. Does the iPhone or the Mercedes not meet spec?

The Mercedes-Benz charging solution is compatible with the universal Qi standard. All Qi-enabled smartphones including the iPhone 8 and iPhone X can be charged directly from the charger, however larger phablet size devices like the iPhone 8 Plus, Samsung S8 Plus may not fit in the tray phone holder solution.
Also, that page doesn't give any compatibility information about the NFC connectivity feature (which is different than the Qi charging) but NFC connectivity on iPhones has been limited to Apple Pay although there are recent reports of that possibly changing: https://9to5mac.com/2017/06/07/apple-opening-up-some-access-to-the-iphones-nfc-c hip-in-ios-11/
