Where are my photos

I just bought a new phone and everything was transferred in the store. But I cannot find my old photos. Have they just not uploaded yet?

Lost Photos After I got a new iphone and traded back my old one, I couldn't find any of the photos from my old iphone and I do not see them in iCloud backups even though I did backup my phone. Is there anything that I can do? I have been trying to find these photos for over a year and have had no luck. I am absolutely devastated because my old phone contained all of my traveling pictures :(

i lost my photos i got a new phone yesterday. before i did, i purchased more icloud storage and backed up my old phone to icloud. now i can’t find any photos from march 8 -September 19. where did they go??
