What is Apple's usage policy on streaming iTunes movie rentals to a Smart TV via HDMI

Hi all,

I just wandered if anyone knew and could clarify what Apple's official policy is with regards to watching an iTunes purchased movie rental that's being streamed from a computer to a Smart TV via a HDMI cable. I know Apple would prefer that people use Apple TV to watch iTunes Media through TV devices so I just wandered where they stood on alternative means of watching their media products. Would I be conflicting with their policy If I chose to watch a rented film with other members of my family through a Smart TV via a laptop? Many thanks

See Rent movies from the iTunes Store - Apple Support. Computer to HDMI input should be OK, as is watching with family.
