Have consumer cellular - new sim card

ipad Pro sees the sim but there is no service. Consumer Cellular says I didn’t buy the iPad from them so they can’t help me. Have rebooted, reset, everything (sigh) Help.

iPad Pro Wi-Fi + Cellular, iOS 11.2.6, null
