iPhone 7 won't finish installing iOS 11

Something happened the first time I tried to install the iOS overnight, so I had to start over. My iPhone is put into recovery mode and when iTunes asks if I want to update or restore, I choose update. iTunes downloads the update, and my phone begins the installation. The installation looks like it is stuck at 99% because the bar is almost full, but it will never fill. How do I fix this problem without restoring my iPhone?

iPhone 7, iOS 10.3.1

You may well have to restore when all is said and done.

From here, I would suggest force restarting the iPhone, which you would do by holding the side and volume-down buttons together for about 10 seconds until the Apple logo appears.

Then, use iTunes to attempt the installation as described here. Be certain you are using iTunes 12.7 or later.
