2009 Mac Pro dvd drive seek ?

My Mac Pro 2009 has a DVD drive.

It make noise about every 20 minutes like the the computer is trying to search the DVD but there is no DVD installed.

I checked spotlight app but there is no way to exempt a search of DVD drive.

Is there any way to keep the computer from trying to access the DVD drive when I do not have anything put in it ?
