march 2018 beach balling

After updating on March 2018.....

FCP X on launch is continuously beach-balling. I have tried restarting FCP and restarting my mac with no results. I tried to leave it alone for a few hours too. Nothing. I can't even click on anything.

any suggestions?

iMac late 2015 27" Retina beach-balling after Big Sur upgrade Hi Apple Community, Since 11/27 after upgrading to Big Sur, my iMac has been beach balling, maybe every two to three minutes sometimes, for about 30 seconds or more. I see no pattern to the behaviour - it can do it anytime, even when shutting down, running the Etrecheck etc. So I am in "try the Internet" mode. Got and ran EtreCheck (report attached). Rebooted into safe mode (and it beach balled there too!) Tried disabling this and that - but no matter what it try, the beach balling is there. Sometimes very frequently, sometimes I can edit a 50 minute movie in iMovie with no issue. The system does not actually crash - just beach balls. Anyone with similar beach balling after the upgrade? I have seen several issues after the upgrade in here, but none specifically with just beach balling. Thanks for any assistance!! Bill

Beachball Why when I delete something go on to a different subject or edit something the spinning Beachball comes on and spins for 30 seconds or even a minute or two before I can do anything on my iMac

osx 10.13.5 issue with spinning beach ball I just upgraded to 10.13.5 this week and am having non-stop issues with beachballing (Spinning Wait Cursor or the Spinning Disc Pointer). Basically the way to reproduce this issue is to attempt saving a file and cancel out of the save operation. The OS will then freak out for a while and halt everything... This generally takes around 30 seconds of my time, and then the OS resumes as normal.This is not an application-specific problem, as I have the issue in any application.Am I alone in this?My computer specs:MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Late 2013)2.6 GHz Intel Core i716 GB 1600 MHz DDR3NVIDIA GeForce GT 750M 2048 MBIntel Iris Pro 1536 MB

Hold down command and option while starting FCP X. A dialog window will appear. Click the Delete Preferences button.
