go to both phone companies again there is a porting problem. Perhaps you have to go in in person due to the Fed trade commission. This way the old phone company can release the port to the other phone company if you switched carriers.
If I understand correctly, you want to port a number to a new carrier. Have you done this, and does the number work on the phone? Need to get that working first. You port a number by contacting the new carrier, and they send a request to the old carrier to port the number. This should take no more than 24 hours.
Once that is working the new carrier should be able to provision voicemail.
