SamsungT5 SSD Macbook 12" wont install

I have a new Macbook 12" and a Samsung T5 external SSD that works fine with my 2012 Macbook Pro. When I plugged in the T5 SSD and clicked on the SamsungPortableSSD application to install the required drivers. After a few seconds the computer screen went black and white with a message that the computer had an issues and was being restarted. Once it restarted I tried again and got the message

User uploaded file

I looked to see if there was an install running but under the Force Quit selection no running programs were shown. I have tried to copy the SamsungPortableSSD application to my local hard drive, right clicked on show package contents, and then clicking on SamsungPortableSSDDriver1.5.02.pkg. I get the same black screen of death.

Any suggestions?

MacBook, iOS 11.2.6, Samsung t5
