How to free my system for its disc is full to brim

I need help on how to free my iMac laptop with over 240GB in the macintosh hard drive, most of these were on folder called "Others with about 140GB", others on picture file about 61GB, but this is different from the size of pictures I saved on the system which was 17GB.

I could not see where to go to get these deleted and how to choose what to delete

I have backed up my system on a hard drive

I appreciate your help

You need to move some files to an external hard drive.

Hard drive space, including ‘Other’:
