I want to download something from the internet which tells me I must download ziprar.dmg but the next window takes me to a 'grant permission to Pitchofcase to be the search engine - not sure about that! Any tips?

When downloading software, be sure to go to the developer's site, as other sites can package malware with the software you want.

The key to the advice you already have is from where are you trying to download this file. If you can tell us exactly what you are trying to download and from where, we can advise you how to approach it.
If for some reason you prefer not to say, the advice of only downloading from the original developer's site should be heeded. Sites like Softonic, cnet.com and the like are a total no, no.
Thanks for that - does that mean that ZipRar should also not be downloaded because that is the next window that comes up?
