Why won't my music play through my headphones?

I have an Iphone 7 and just recently i went to go listen to music but my music doesn't play through the headphones. And i tried other people's headphones too but didn't work. Whenever i try to play it through headphones, music just starts playing out loud.

iPhone XR headphone When I plug in my headphones, the music still comes out of the speakers of the phone. I have tried a couple of pairs of headphones and they work in another iPhone. any ideas?
