I've got an iPhone 7 and never had a problem

I've got an iPhone 7 and never had a problem , but I've drop it and had to go back to an old iPhone 5s till I get a new one , but on the iPhone 5s the signal is bad and only has 1 bar is there some I can do

Have you had the battery checked? That may be the reason, even if you have been able to charge it since you've started using it again. Best to take it to an Apple store for evaluation.
