Four questions:

  • What is the make & model of the wireless access point, router, or gateway that is providing the Wi-Fi network?
  • What is the make & model of the wireless client (desktop or notebook) that you are connecting to this network?
  • What version of operating system is it running?
  • What are you using to determine signal strength vs. range?

Use the 2.4 GHz network signal, since it much stronger than the 5 GHz signal

Remove obstructions in the signal path between the WiFi router and connected devices

Replace the WiFi router if it is 5 years old or older

Add another WiFi router in specific areas where you need more WiFi coverage and connect them back to the main router using an Ethernet cable

WiFi range is poor.
