Disappearing albums on Mac

I spent most of yesterday organising my photos into albums only to find this morning when I opened up photos to find all my sorted albums had disappeared.

I still have my photos in the main folder but no albums.

I am beginning to find that iCloud and photos is a bit of a joke good job I still use google photos.

Photos disappeared hey, a lot of photos disappeared from my albums on my macbook and even a few albums are gone. Now if I go to all my photos I only have like 3.000 photos total and I used to have like 20.000, everything what also organized between albums.. I have no idea what happend, any way I can restore this or will the photos return automatically??
