I am trying to change my email address of my apple ID to enable my work emails to be added to my phone. I am getting an error message 'THIS EMAIL ADDRESS IS NOT AVAILABLE. CHOOSE A DIFERENT ADDRESS'
Not really helpful as it has to be that address!!
Can anyone help with why its doing this??
Have you recently used that email address on an account ? People have posted that you need to wait twelve months before using an email address on another account. If that's not the case : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/ww or https://www.apple.com/emea/support/itunes/contact.html

Apple Support by e-mail or chat Select your device, Battery, Power and Charging, then Power adapter not working to get a chat option. If you need to talk to them, ask them if they will do a Skype or FaceTime with you.

I doubt it - its a personalised email address with his name included.
I thought someone in IT at his company might have set up an apple ID for him but when I checked the email address it says no apple ID exists... its all very odd.
Definitely shouldn't have been used before - he only got the new work email address a week ago so cant imagine how it could have been used before?
Could the email address have been issued and used by the company in the past ?
