Lightroom → Photos Workflow

Your question seems clear to me, as I share it. Here's one I found.

Like you, I'd be interested in other examples of "neat tips and tricks" for ways Lightroom users use these two apps side by side for the purposes you describe.

The apparent workflow for what you want to do is to use Lightroom for all of your photos. Those you want to share with other you export out of LR and import into Photos for sharing. That way you only have duplicates of a limited number of image files on your hard drive.

I can't say I've done exactly what you are looking for, but perhaps you could export from Lr into one or more folders that have a Folder Action for automatic import into specified albums within Photos, maybe modified from the method described by Léonie in Automator Service for an Auto Import Folder for Photos.

Also, I use 'exiftool' in a number of scripts to automatically route exported images to different places, depending on keywords set inside Photos or Aperture before export. It may be worth further research.

There is no LightRoom to Photos workflow - both programs do the same thing using totally different methods and are totally independent of each other. You have to export photos from LR and import into Photos having two operate copies each in their respective library

And LR has not implements any ability to use iCloud at all

Did you read Léonie's clear answer re iCloud and iCloud Sharing and iCloud family sharing in your other thread with a duplicate iCloud question?

iCloud is very user centric. It is great to keep the photo library, music library, the documents and data in sync across multiple devices, even with different versions of MacOS X and iOS on the devices. It saves a lot of work. But there is nearly no support for collaboration between several users in iCloud. You can share iWork documents and purchased items (apps, music, books).

It is not for sharing data, it is for sharing a storage plan and select purchases

There is no other way -- asking ten or 100 more times will not change the fact that the workflow you want does not exist except exporting form one and importing into the other having duplicate photos
