Magic Mouse 2 slow tracking

I have always had a problem with the Magic Mouse 2 so reverted to the Magic Mouse I got with my old iMac. It is really bugging me that the Magic Mouse 2 doesn't work that came with my iMac. I had bought a Magic Mouse 2 to use with my old iMac which also never worked properly - which I had down to being an older iMac. Both work ok for a very short while and then track really really slow almost to the point where they don't move.

I use it on a Steel Series cloth mouse mat which the old Magic Mouse works fine with.

I am temped to ditch this obviously inferior mouse for a gaming mouse as I play World of Warcraft but most gaming mice can't be programmed when used on iOS - its about time this issue was sorted. Can anyone suggest a decent gaming mouse which is iOS compatible? Or can anyone suggest how to get the things to work as would expect?
