No version of Pages will convert fonts to vector outlines as would be possible with Photoshop, Illustrator, Affinity Designer, and other dedicated higher-end graphics programs. The PDF that Pages exports, is not a print ready ISO PDF/X-1a, or PDF/X-3 standards conforming document where all fonts are required to be embedded.

Apple simply does not support the PDF/X ISO family standards in its print/export PDF facility. This is why we collectively do not recommend Pages for professional printing solutions. Think InDesign, or Quark.

You are not specific but I have done some quick tests.

Pages 6.3.1 with the font Metropolis disabled:

PDF (via Print dialogue) open in Preview with the font disabled:

PDF (via Print dialogue) open in Acrobat 10.1.14 with the font disabled:

I also printed the pdf with the font disabled and it prints correctly, so my conclusion is that the pdf does have the fonts embedded.

I'd speak to your printer as to exactly what cheap PC PDF clone RIP they are using.

The worst of all solutions, converting all fonts to outline, is something I have never practiced. If the RIP can not do the relatively simple task of utilising embedded fonts, what else can it not do?
