“Verify Billing” in AppStore

So, Out of no where they want me to verify my billing to update or download free apps. I want to change my payment to None but it won’t allow me to. I tried every way and it still tells me to verify billing but I can’t without changing my payment to none. I’m using Iphone 8. What do i do?

How/when are you trying to remove your payment details ? You won’t be able to do so when trying to download something, you will only potentially be able to do so just by logging into the account : Change or remove your Apple ID payment information in the iTunes Store - Apple Support

If you don't get the 'none' option when doing that : Why can’t I select None when I edit my Apple ID payment information? - Apple Support
