i am afraid I will lose a MAJOR project. My cursor stopped working. happened before but can’t remember the fix. How do I get my cursor to work?
Restart the computer holding down the command - option/alt - P - R keys before the gray screen appears. Continue to hold until you hear the startup chime for the second time. You may need to do this 2-3 times.
Try a SMC reset. The article covers when this is required, but doing this will not affect anything.

Control F2 will bring you to the Menu Bar...use the cursor arrows to move around and 'Enter' key to select. This will enable you to undo or do anything like save, save as send...
