There were several PowerBook G3 models.

The PowerBook (FireWire) = Pismo could use up to Mac OS X 10.4.x (Tiger).

Only a G4 upgrade appears to have made an unsupported use of Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard) possible here.
The maximum operating system for the earlier PowerBook G3 computers (except the Kanga) was either Mac OS X 10.2.x (Jaguar) or 10.3.x (Panther), depending on model. Up to 10.4.x (Tiger) was possible in some cases via an unsupported application.
Which exact PowerBook model do you have?
Also, are you attempting to use an internal AirPort card (only the FireWire/Pismo) or a PC Card WiFi adapter (type?)?

Hi,
There's no way a PBook G3 can run v10.8 Mountain Lion.
OS X Mountain Lion - Technical Specifications
Restore your Mac using the discs that came with it.
Jaguar is 10.3, Mountain Lion is 10.8. The highest any PPC Mac like yours can run is 10.5 Leopard except I don't know that a G3 would be able to run Leopard as anything except as a challenge. Some people got G3s to run Tiger 10.4 but I was never successful in doing so. Anyway, as stated, Mountain Lion is impossible.
I meant leopard but still I restarted the pc and it wasn't working
Oh gosh, this is ancient history. There was some third party utility that was needed to get Tiger and Leopard to work on G3s. I am forgetting its name.
Leopard requires a G4 processor:
XpostFacto That's the name.
Exactly! I have a Beige G3 running Panther via XPF. Ever so much nicer than was Jaguar, which always felt "beta" to me.
OWC had pulled the links to XPF info at some point but it is back now:
Other World Computing: OS X for Legacy Macs
The download link works too.
