Can you download mp3 to phone?
Can I download an mp3 of a song I purchase directly to my phone or do I need to download onto a computer and then upload it to the phone?

If you purchased a song in iTunes, it will download directly to the phone. If you are referring to something else, then you cannot download directly to the phone, you would have to download on the computer and then move it to your iTunes library.
You cannot purchase music through Apple Music. That is a subscription service, and purchases of music can only be made through iTunes. For you to purchase music on an Android, you would need to do that through Google's store.
What does not allow you to download outside of what proprietary app? Apple Music is a subscription service for the sole purpose of listening to music, not selling it. You cannot purchase music in Apple Music on an iPhone either. The only download that you can do with Apple Music on an iPhone is download to listen while offline. If you no longer have the subscription, that song would no longer work on an iPhone. I believe you may be confused on how it works on your Android device.
I'm referring to the Apple Music app for Android. I can't find an iTunes app, but if I can get to it in browser that would work too. I'm trying to get an mp3 of a specific song, but Google and Amazon no longer allow mp3 downloads directly to a phone, only to a PC.
Which does not allow you to download the music you purchase outside of their proprietary app. That was the reason I am searching for options to legitimately download a song. I guess piracy is the only option now. Thanks.
Then educate me. You are not purchasing music in Apple Music. You are only using it as a subscription service. That is why you may consider it a proprietary system. You cannot purchase it on an iPhone either. You can only purchase music through iTunes on the iPhone. Whatever restrictions there are for using Apple Music on an Android device should be available for you to read when you download the app. If there is something else I'm not understanding about what you are trying to do, then please explain.
If you attempt to access iTunes through an Android it links you to Apple Music app. I was looking for clarification that this was in fact not iTunes. You did answer my question, though unintentionally. Perhaps you should not respond to questions regarding Android devices if you are not familiar with Android devices.
Well, that was nice, considering your original post said nothing about an Android phone. I understand Apple Music and iTunes, and also that you cannot access iTunes from an Android device. Once you were forthcoming about what you were trying to do, it was a little easier to address. If you wish to use iTunes, you need to us an Apple device. I'm not exactly sure why you would have tried to download music from iTunes, since Google has their own system. I hope you have a nice evening.
What you just described is a download limited to a proprietary system. I think you are confused as to what my question was referencing.
