Shipping labels in Pages

Is there a way to create a shipping label (Avery 5164) using, or not using Contacts?

Mac version 10.13.3, Pages 6.1.1

You will be absolutely gobsmacked and totally amazed that we answer the questions we are asked.

To selectively pick out labels, you will have to create a document in Pages from a converted Avery Word template from their website and manually add the data to the labels, because there is no software on this planet that can look at the partially used sheet on your desk and know what you want to do with it.

Make one the way you like and save it as a template for reuse.

I'm not offended, but you are in a long line of people who ask a question only to reveal that that wasn't really the one.

Some people can keep that game going for pages on this forum.

I just experimented with drag and dropping VCards onto Pages placeholders and was not too surprised to find that it doesn't work because Pages 6 is basically crippleware.

It works in Pages '09 of course, but then most things do.

If you want to use Pages 6.3.1, you will need to create the labels with the Sender return address in the corner of each label and placeholders for the Sendee's Name & Address on the other corner then copy & paste the Name and the Address separately into the label.

Thank you Peter,

I did find that, but it seems to fall a little bit short.

There does not appear to be a way to choose a particular label on a sheet of 6. If you are creating a single label, it is placed in the top left corner of the sheet. If you create a label the following day, I presume that it also will be placed in the top left corner, but that label is already gone (ignoring that you can turn the sheet around).

There does not appear to be a way to move the text boxes. I would like to place the recipient's info in the bottom right corner and a return address in the top left corner. It would also be good to be able to format the boxes separately (using a larger font for the recipient).

Peter,

Sorry if I offended you. That was not my intention.

I followed your suggestions and was able to create a good template that I have saved to Pages but I have not found a way to populate the recipient's text box with data from Contacts other than copy and paste. Is there a way to replace the default template that appears when printing a contact to the one I have created? I am able to move the text boxes in this template to any of the 6 labels as I had hoped.

Thanks.

Jim
