iPad 2 and iOS 9.3.5: how do I find compatible apps in the store?

Hi,

I recently came to own a hand-me-down iPad 2 with iOS 9.3.5.

I already know about the fact that a lot of the apps that everyone likes (i.e. Netflix, Hulu, Youtube, to name a few) no longer work on the iPad 2.

What I'd like to find out is: how to query or find iOS 9.3.5 apps in the app store?

Other than manually checking each app as I find them by searching the app store.

I also know that jb'ing older devices left behind by developer support, would allow some of the newer apps to work.

Otherwise, this thing is paper weight to me.

Your input is greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Netflix is still available for iOS 9 and iPad 2.

I just updated Netflix on my iPad 2 recently.

YouTube app is STILL available for iOS 9.3.5 and older iPads, too!

Just recently updated YouTube app on my iPad 2, also.

Also, be aware of the fact that you CAN access the YouTube mobile OR desktop website from a web browser, as well.

If you need a iOS 9 compatible version of Hulu, if you have a computer with an older version of iTunes on it (version 12.6.3 or earlier, you can download the recent version of Hulu from the iOS App Store within iTunes using your Apple ID and password.

Then back on your iPad 2 in the iOS App Store app, try redownloading the Hulu app, when you do, a pop-up prompt will appear asking if you want to download a compatible version of the app.

Tap the OK button.

This iTunes procedure will work with any app that is no longer iOS 9 compatible and has been updated to a new iOS version. For older pay versions of apps, I would contact the developer of the app, first, to find out if a older version of an app still exists on Apple’s app servers as some apps and many games no longer work on iOS 9.

In addition, I would STOP using that 2-2-1/2 year old Safari web browser, as it is, probably, not safe and secure to use any longer, and seek out a third party web browser that is STILL currently being updated and STILL being supported on iOS 9.3.5.

Here are a few third party web browsers that I know are STILL being updated and supported on iOS 9.
